Just saw this trailer for Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel, a documentary about the filmmaking career of the amazing Roger Corman, producer (and director) of some 300 films. Corman made some great sci-fi movies in the 50’s and 60’s (and every decade since). Some cheap and awful. Some cheap and great. But most always cheap. Corman knew how to take a small amount of money, some young and hungry filmmakers, and create pop culture product that would put people’s buts in seats and sell popcorn.

Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel hits theaters December 18th. Run (screaming), don’t walk (the slow get eaten by zombies).

Some of my favorite Corman flicks:

Not of This Earth (1957)

House of Usher (1960)

The Pit and the Pendulum (1961)

Battle Beyond the Stars (1980)
